Officers on patrol at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning stopped Norwalk resident Maria Carmela Morales-Gramajo near the intersection of Sheep Hill Road and Apache Place after she was spotted driving in the wrong lane on East Putnam Avenue.
Police said that Morales-Gramajo had “glassy, red eyes, and officers detected the odor associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages emanating from her person and breath.”
Morales-Gramajo proceeded to fail multiple Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was arrested. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to maintain her lane. She was released on $250 cash bond following her arraignment and she is due to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 22 to answer the charges.
